Monday Morning Motivation... A morning Coffee is my favorite way starting the day, settling the nerves so they don't later fray. ~ Macia Carrington For me it is cup of green tea and honey first and then a cup of coffee. Starting your morning, especially a Monday, with something that brings you comfort and peace is terrific way to take the edge off and look forward to what is ahead.

Saturdays will be Something about me and the week we shared together through this page. It is a way of getting to know me, why I became a Life Coach, and a way to build a trusting Client/Coach relationship. This week was about New Beginnings. We have all had our share of success and failures. I have definitely had my share of both. As I offer postings through out the week you may like to know that I follow my own suggestions. I actually do the different things I offer as questions and exercises. For instance this week I asked "What would you be willing to try if you knew you wouldn't fail." For me the answer to that is write a book! I am currently working on two. I also started small by committing to writing four days a week even if it is just a few sentences. Additionally I have found that the best way for me to handle most, if no all of my problems, is to walk away from them for a bit. This piece of advice is particularly effective when trying to learn new computer programs. Thank you for sharing your week with me. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. My next post will be on Monday. Please share and invite others to join us!

Fridays will be Food For Thought. Each Friday I will offer a question. Something to make you think. That is what coaching is all about. Asking the client the right questions to help them find the answers within themselves. Inspiration struck me when I was contemplating this first Friday question. I have learned that when inspiration strikes it is important to pay attention because it is the universe giving you a gift. While I know this is cliche and you have heard it a million times, it really is a powerful question and a perfect starting point. Have you ever done more then read this question? Have you ever truly tried to answer this question? WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF YOU KNEW YOU COULDN'T FAIL?

Therapy Thursday! Thursdays will be a day where I offer ideas on what you can do to alleviate stress and anxiety from your life, and add some relaxation and happiness. Today's suggestion: If yo are encountering a problem and can't seem to find a solution... Walk away! What? Yes, walk away from it for 24-48 hours. The problem will still be there when you get back. When you walk away you give your mind a chance to clear. When you revisit the problem you will have a clear head and a fresh perspective. This will allow you to use your energy to find a solution instead of being filled with worry and anxiety. Walking away temporarily does not mean you are giving up. It means you are allowing yourself some breathing room to better deal with the situation.

Toolbox Tuesday! On Tuesdays I will share tools and ideas with you to help you reach your goals or make changes in your life that may be challenging. Today's tip: START SMALL! More often then not people who try to make positive changes in their life have an all or nothing approach. Very few, myself included, succeed this way. If they did there would be a lot more people who succeeded with their New Year resolutions. When planning to make a change, choose three or less behavior changes and focus on them for 21 days. You will have an easier time following your goals and therefor be encouraged by your success!

MONDAY! Mondays can be rough so each Monday I will post something that I hope will inspire you and take the edge off of getting back to the grind. Let me start with how I view Mondays... I see it as a weekly "New Years Day." A fresh start to begin again or to celebrate and reaffirm the success you already have. This particular Monday is a fresh start to an old project. It's is great to be back writing and blogging again.

The Moments That Define Us.

I have been given the privilege to pre-read a book that will be released on August 4th, 2009 entitled “Be The Hero”. It is an amazing book that offers on insight into how one can deal with the challenges we each face during our time on this earth.

It inspired me to post a question on Facebook that read, “When you look back on your life.... what is the moment you realized you learned something that would change your life forever?”

I was humbled and inspired by those that replied. I must say I wasn’t surpised by who responded. I know these people and I know they have had some difficult challenges in their life time. Picking one moment had to be difficult as we all have moments. But often it is that ONE moment that clarifies the rest of our life. It is that one moment where we choose how we will respond. The people who responded picked THAT moment. Whether they know it or not that was THE moment they chose to be The Hero.

Suzi said it was passing her nursing boards, Fresa was doing CPR on her father and couldn’t revive him and Veronica lost her five year old daughter and realized how important NOW is.

For me it was when I was trying to convice my four year old son Michael it was important to go to church. We were bantering back and forth about all the reasons it was important to go and he wasn’t buying any of them. I pulled out the “Mommy” response and in frustration and said “Because it’s important! That’s Why!” He put his little hand on his hip, looked me straight in the eyes and said “It wasn’t important last week!” At that moment I realized how true the old saying goes “children learn by example.”

These defining moments make us who we are. It is at these times we have choices to make about who we want to be and how we want to move forward with our life. These moments make us stronger and more present for those around us.

It is natrual that we want to share these lessons with people and often the best way is by example. Sometimes however, people don’t learn, or they need some help learning. Other times we forget the lesson and it is nice to be reminded of what we know and how to apply it.

This is why I am so excited about Noah Blumenthals new book “Be The Hero”. It is a quick, easy to read book filled with resourses to help you deal with whatever life throws your direction. It also makes a wonderful gift for anyone who is having challenges now that they are having difficulty dealing with. Sometimes people need a shoulder to cry on, but other times they need tools that will help them get through a difficult period in their life (or just be reminded of what they already know). This book is the perfect tool to do just that! Additionally Noah is using his book to help Miami Childrens Hospital. You can help yourself, Miami Childrens Hosptial and Noah on August 4th simply by going to Amazon.com and purchasing his book that day! It is that easy! Just stop by Amazon.com on August 4th and purchase “Be The Hero” by Noah Blumental.
